Are you planning a gathering, wedding, special event, family reunion, team-building event or retreat? This is the ideal setting to escape the busyness of everyday and refresh amidst the tranquil redwoods and serene San Lorenzo River that runs through the property.
Professionally trained staff, culinary expertise, comfortable meeting rooms, activity areas and great local attractions, along with the natural beauty of the Santa Cruz Mountains, combine to create the perfect meeting place.
Camp Harmon is owned and operated by Easterseals Central California and is located among the majestic redwoods of the Santa Cruz Mountains on the banks of the San Lorenzo River. Guests can enjoy a wide variety of activities. With many open and sunny recreation areas, camp offers a restful retreat setting.
Lodge and Meeting Rooms
The main lodge is over 3,600 square feet. It consists of:
- a spacious dining room that seats up to 220 people
- chairs and tables
- serves as a central meeting hall and/or training facility
- ideal for receptions, meetings and evening gatherings
- a large comfortable fireplace inside lodge
- a fully staffed service kitchen adjoins the lodge (meals are an optional service)
Additional “break away” meeting space is available in the arts-and-crafts center for groups of up to thirty people. The outdoor Chapel Deck and amphitheater with stage and fire pit offer to additional spaces for meetings and activities. Plus, paved pathways lead to all the facilities making camp fully accessible. An outdoor, accessible and heated swimming pool is available June 1st thru August 31st.
Cabins
Sleeping accommodations are provided in 12 winterized and heated cabins; each sleeps up to 10 people and has its own half bath. Two community style shower houses with restrooms are located centrally on camp. Sturdy twin-size beds with mattresses are provided (bedding is not included), two to three small shelves are available in each cabin for personal belongings. You will be treated to a rustic-style, yet comfortable, camping experience here at Camp Harmon.
Activities
Camp Harmon has a playground for our younger friends and a large sunny playing field for sports such as softball and group games, equipped with bleachers for spectators. A variety of additional activities include basketball, volleyball, hiking, Ping-Pong, and a golf putting green. The arts-and-crafts center is also available, so you may bring your own projects to work on during your stay. And, we can't forget the animal farm and garden! Every year, our animal family changes; it currently consists of ponies, goats, pigs, rabbits, and chickens. And the sustainable garden produces herbs, vegetables and fruit all year long.
Benches, picnic tables and gazebo-style shade structures are available throughout the entire campground for your outdoor enjoyment. We hope you will sit, relax and soak up the fresh air amidst the towering grandeur of the redwoods.
